- Tell us about the beginning of your Swiggy ride. What was your role when you joined the company and how has that evolved over the years?
My journey with Swiggy began as a Sales Manager, a role that sparked my passion for driving growth and establishing partnerships. Over the years, I have taken up diverse roles such as Key Account Manager and Strategic Account Manager. I also led a team of eight members as an Area Sales Manager. Currently, I oversee two key cohorts as an Ads Manager. Each role came with its own set of challenges, and I gained invaluable insights into the complexities of our market and the unique needs of our restaurant partners.
- How would you best describe your Swiggy journey?
It has been no less than a rollercoaster ride filled with exciting highs and humbling challenges. With every role, I got to know more about our hyperlocal tech industry by directly experiencing its ever-evolving nature. It’s been a journey that has not only shaped my professional growth but also made me a better individual.
- What led you to join Swiggy?
I joined Swiggy to experience the journey of a growing startup. I connected with the company’s commitment to innovation along with the company’s emphasis on nurturing meaningful partnerships. The anticipation of teaming up with passionate people to contribute to the company’s growth motivated me to enter the Swiggy world.
- Revisiting the beginning of this journey, what was your first day at Swiggy like?
On my first day at Swiggy, I had a feeling of anticipation and eagerness to make my mark. I went through the day energetically with a sense of purpose as I looked forward to exploring my role and contributing to my team. It was a promising start to a ride of endless possibilities.
- What would you say has been the best moment of your time with Swiggy?
One of my memorable standout moments came during my early days in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. There, I played a key role in overcoming hurdles with the local restaurant association. It was a true test of perseverance and strategic ability, as we navigated through challenges and ultimately succeeded in amplifying our market share by around 48 percent! This highlighted our resilience and the remarkable impact we can bring through collaboration and unwavering commitment.
- From all that you’ve learned in your time here, are there any lessons that you look to carry forward in life?
Definitely! Throughout my time at Swiggy till now, I’ve gained some crucial lessons to apply beyond work. Firstly, I realised the importance of mutual understanding and support in making things happen. Also, I learned how trusting my team by promoting a collaborative environment is key to not only shared success but also my personal growth.
- What would you say played an important role in your decision to stay with Swiggy?
It’s a combination of various factors, especially Swiggy’s unparalleled work culture and visionary leadership. I have been fortunate to work alongside some of the best minds in the industry, and their mentorship has sharpened me professionally. Their support has also deepened my sense of purpose and belonging.
- If you could, what would you say to the Day 1 version of yourself?
I would simply remind my Day 1 version to be authentic, work hard, and view every challenge as an opportunity for growth. Good times and happenings always await the people with unwavering dedication and the passion they bring to the table.
